Soil Association registered in 2000, Ffynnonston Organics is a horticultural smallholding situated one mile from Fishguard in North Pembrokeshire. Run by Glyn & Ann Hicks it grows vegetables, salads, fruit, herbs & flowers. Produce is sold on the Fishguard Farmers Market & to local restaurants & retail outlets. Farm Gate Sales take place during the summer season & produce is available to holidaymakers.

Specialities include salad bags, tomatoes & cucumbers; legumes including broad beans, French beans, peas, mangetout & runner beans; & a wide range of herbs.

Fruits include apples, figs, red & black currants, gooseberries, rhubarb & bullaces.
Many herbs are grown throughout the year & include Italian flat leaf parsley, basil, coriander, chives, garlic chives, chervil, rosemary, thyme, sage etc.

The intention with flowers has been to grow the old-fashioned varieties, many of which are scented. These include sweet peas, stocks, Sweet Williams, antirrhinums, scabious, cosmos & zinnias amongst others.

A few greenhouses & a polytunnel give some protection from the elements for germination & for sensitive plants. But the location is favourable & the weather mild, sometimes damp, often sunny & frequently windy. The last is the biggest problem for growing, but the holding is well bounded by trees & scrub. The lower field is a real nature reserve, partially grazed sometimes by the donkey but otherwise undisturbed. A new 50 tree apple orchard was planted in 2007 with 25 different varieties of apple including some old Welsh varieties. There is a large bird population, some small mammals, a few reptiles & amphibians, butterflies & dragonflies. It is blessedly quiet with no traffic noise ( except tractors & harvesters in season ). The quiet & our wonderful night skies are much commented on by visitors.
